Job Title : Payroll and Benefits Administrator
Location : Markham, ON
Length of Assignment : Full time, Permanent
Salary : $50,000-$55,000 / year
Payroll and Benefits expertise to expertly administer Company policies and programs. Supporting the annual merit and incentive programs and acting as point of contact for employees and retirees on all pay, benefit, pension and RRSP plans is also required.
This individual will provide excellence in payroll service delivery and at the directions of the Manager Payroll and Benefits will liaise with Internal / External Auditors, BU’s and Shared Service Center experts.
Areas of responsibility
Stay current on ever-changing Canadian tax and payroll rules and regulations and proactively share insights with Management
Where necessary process changes for employee separations and returns from leaves of absence
Ensure payroll compliance with legislation and tax requirements by working to ensure data entry accuracy and with internal & external auditors to ensure compliance
Salaried employees’ semi-monthly payroll support including data entry, processing and reporting, and year-end activities for 160 employees in ON, QC, and SK.
Coordinate the pension administration process such as retirements, retiree benefits, retiree deaths, maintenance of benefit records
Coordinate benefits administration including enrollments, monthly billings for both US and Canada when necessary
Assist in preparation of Audits and prepare audit update files
Perform other duties related to HR requirements and special project requests
1 year of experience in a payroll administration role is required
University degree in business or human resources
Knowledge of French (written & oral) is an asset

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with ADP or Ceridian software is required
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-look ups) are a must
Experience working in fast-paced environments
PCP in pursuit is an asset
