Reporting to the Senior IT Director, the Network & Systems Administrator Team Lead will provide technical leadership in the operation of Behaviour Interactive's IT infrastructure including storage, systems, virtualization, cloud computing and disaster recovery.
This is a hybrid position consisting of both management and daily technical tasks. You will be responsible for providing guidance, training, oversight, and implementation of appropriate controls and performing regular and effective reviews of all technical aspects;
including operational support activities. The Network & Systems Administrator - Team Lead must possess proven leadership skills and in-
depth technical aptitude in all areas of IT systems, network and storage infrastructure to ensure success.
Develop a customer focused team
Participate in the ongoing development of the infrastructure roadmap (Cloud and on premises)
Participate in the development of short-term and long-term projects
Use various work management tools and have the willingness and ability to learn and use new tools
Perform key network and system administration tasks while guiding the team from a technical and priority based standpoint
A good interpersonal communicator who can present and translate technical requirements into non-technical outcomes to key decision makers at any level of the organization
Assist in developing IT policies to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
Work with management and customer organizations to define, negotiate and ensure the operational success of its teams
Enhance escalation procedures and workflows for the timely resolution of all issues within areas of responsibility
Work with a technical expert in the development of technology solutions in support of new initiatives
Ensure infrastructure security and operational standards and procedures are maintained
Perform risk assessments to identify infrastructure related security issues and remediation plans.
Identify and manage mitigation of operational risks where appropriate.
Ensure availability of all critical systems and develop comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures
Provide regular performance feedback to employees including annual written performance reviews
Able to split work time across both technical tasks (65%) and management work (35%).
Ability to manage cross-functional teams
Strong technical skills in the areas of cloud systems O365, Aws, Azure, etc.), network, server and storage infrastructure
Project management experience
Strong analytical skills
Proven technical skills including infrastructure design
Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
Strong Verbal and written communication skills
Education and Experience :
12+ years of IT experience
5+ years in a leadership role with increasing responsibility
5+ Windows / Unix / Linux Administration
7+ Active Directory
7+ years VMWare
7+ years in HP Servers / Networks and Firewall (Fortinet) infrastructure
5+ years in security measure / program implementation
Security Certification (an asset)
