Project : Corra Linn, South Slocan British Columbia, Canada . The candidate must be willing to relocate in Nelson, BC area.
Act as a general technical resource for work taking place on site;
Ensure communication links are maintained between HMI's Engineering Department and all stakeholders on site (sub-contractors, HMI's site staff, client's representative, etc.
for design modifications, technical clarifications, etc.;
Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) to the client regarding site-related technical questions;
Ensure installation requirements are met for different components supplied by HMI;
Implement the necessary controls and conduct inspections throughout the construction and commissioning phases of the project;
Ensure overall conformity of the work with HMI's QA / QC contractual obligations for the construction and commissioning phases of the Project;
Preparation and management of all forms and paperwork related to the above QA / QC obligations, such as RFIs, NCRs (Non-
Conformance Reports), Preventive Actions, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), etc.;
Attend all hold points and witness points listed in the ITPs;
Monitor fabrication at BC fabrication shops and ensure overall conformity of the work with HMI's QA / QC contractual obligations;
Ensure History Dockets are fully updated for the suppliers' portions of the work;
Transmit the above documentation to the client in a timely manner;
Provide information required by the Project Engineer regarding cost and schedule;
Monitor and report activities taking place on site on a daily basis.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
5 to 10 years of relevant experience;
Experience in heavy hydroelectric mechanical equipment refurbishment and gates
Knowledge of ISO 9001;
Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite;
Experience on hydroelectric projects is an asset.
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills;
Rigorous and organized.
