  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding a book of business containing large complex accounts across various industries or specialties, with specific focus in the Manufacturing, Retail, Food & Beverage and Media / Communications industries.
  • Develops the sales strategy for managed accounts leveraging an in-depth understanding of client needs, market trends and internal product or service offerings.
  • Actively pursues new business opportunities which are aligned our risk segment and industry specialization
  • Attends and participates in industry events and conferences to build up a strong professional network, maintain proximity to the relevant market and represent the Company.
  • Accountable to understand manage and deliver Best in Class’ solutions and service to clients through collaboration across the organization.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to colleagues
  • Demonstrate strategic and tactical leadership in the development and placement of client solutions including active communication with the broking and or specialty teams
  • Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in commercial lines.
  • Holds appropriate broker’s license(s) for the Province of Ontario, as a minimum.
  • Possess a solid understanding of property / casualty insurance principles and risk management concepts.
  • Experience in sales / business development
  • Results-oriented with a strong client service focus.
  • Strong organizational skills in prioritizing work, multi-tasking and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen including a well-rounded knowledge of general business function, finance and issues
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization including the C’ Suite.
