This is a 16-month Co-op that begins in May 2022. Application Deadline : October 18, 2021
What you will do :
The following is a sample of common job duties, however, more detailed information will be provided during the recruitment process :
Gain experience in collecting and analyzing geospatial data in-mine and on surface or in both microseismic monitoring and in-mine geophysical techniques
Contribute to the GeoServices & Land team in providing quality geospatial or geophysical support to potash mining operations
Assist with various duties, including :
Collection of terrestrial LiDAR, RPAS photogrammetry, and GNSS survey data
Data analysis and quality control
Care and maintenance of sensitive equipment
Working with GIS datasets
Geophysical data acquisition : mainly Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), but may also include electromagnetic survey support and seismic reflection / refraction acquisition
Installation and management of geophysical sensors
Travel will be required
Work both in underground mines and in operating industrial facilities
Some longer than normal workdays may be required
What you will bring :
Must be currently enrolled and completed at least 3 years of an undergraduate Geophysics, Geology, Mine Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geomatics Engineering (or equivalent) program at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term.
Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
Excellent interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and nurture projects forward
Ability to multi-task and manage competing and complex priorities

Preference will be given to candidates with mining or heavy industrial experience and / or with data analytics experience.
