Heddle Shipyards has an excellent opportunity for a reliable Construction Labour Supervisor
The successful incumbent will be a hardworking and dependable role model who will ensure the effective and safe completion of unskilled labour tasks that either support skilled trades or are housekeeping in nature.
Executing jobs ranging from maintaining the yard, cleaning tanks and bilges, to facilitating allocation of Firewatch and Confined Space Attendants.
The Construction Labour Supervisor will coordinate, direct, evaluate, train, and guide labourers in a safe, respectful, and efficient manner.
Legally eligible to work fulltime in Ontario;
Perform heavy manual labour for prolonged durations and outdoors year round;
Comfortable at heights, in confined spaces, and in awkward positions;
Excellent attendance, punctuality and time management.
Self-motivated, honest, positive and customer-focused disposition
Excellent communication both oral and written, problem solving, and organizational skills
Understands and appropriately applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to assisting skilled trades, general housekeeping, and confined space / fire watch attending
Holds self and others accountable for high quality, timely, safe, and cost-effective results
Applications meeting the above may receive preference if they :
have experience leading crews and with skilled trades;
have a verifiable track record of being a reliable and hardworking team player;
have consistently demonstrated an ability to work entire shifts, overtime, and weekends when required.
