Job Description and Responsibilities :
Coherent Inc. is a manufacturer and supplier of state-of-the-art high powered precision electro optical components and laser based solutions for medical, scientific, commercial and industrial applications.
Our Laser products are used in a range of applications, including microelectronics, scientific research and government programs, OEM tools and instrumentation, and materials processing markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the on-site installation, training, and servicing of high powered CO2 lasers.
This role will play an important role in serving as a company liaison with the customer on technical and administrative levels with our automotive customers in the Mississauga area.
This position will require approximately 80% travel within the Mississauga area and occassionally to other Canadian provinces.
Play a critical role in leading delivery of the service needs of our customers
Perform the onsite installation, training, preventative maintenance, upgrades and repair of our complex laser and optical systems
Diagnose and trouble shoot customer issues through statistical analysis and evaluation of laser system reliability
Will test, tune, and adjust equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.
Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
Support sales activities by collecting and forwarding relevant information
Report spare part requirements
Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects
Education and Work Experience :
Associates degree or Technical equivalent
3 - 5 years direct experience desired
Problem solving skills to be able to troubleshoot electronic, electro-optical, electrical, & mechanical problems
Ability to work closely with a team as well as independently
Exceptional customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communications
Command of written and spoken English
Computer literate Education and Work Experience
Requires a technical certificate / degree in electrical / electronic or photonics related field or equivalent experience
Experience with laser or optics highly desirable
