Water & Wastewater Process Engineer

The Water & Wastewater Process Engineer is responsible for providing the day-to-day advisory services of our clientâ€™s water and wastewater systems.
This vital role advises on all aspects of water and wastewater systems, including water supply, treatment and distribution, sewage collection, treatment and disposal, and other municipal services.
If youâ€™re the successful candidate for this position, youâ€™ll report to the Senior Engineer and work with the project team to ensure the successful completion of water and wastewater projects which meet the communityâ€™s needs.
In this role, youâ€™ll assist in designs and construction projects while complying with all codes and guidelines and advise on any issues related to Water and Wastewater Systems.
Weâ€™re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and can connect to people at all levels of an organization and with the clients.

Our Ideal Candidate will have :
Licensing by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is a MUST
A Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline is required.
Minimum 7 years of experience in the design and construction of water and wastewater facilities in communities.
Strong knowledge in all aspects of water and wastewater systems : technical, financial and economic.
Project management and technical advisory experience is an asset.
Report writing abilities, excellent communication skills, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Assist in ensuring that designs and construction projects comply with all codes and guidelines, as well as provide advisory services on any issues related to Water and Wastewater Systems.
Comprehensive understanding of the Drinking Water Quality Management Standards
Excellent knowledge of environmental compliance and health and safety requirements
Solid knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (Ontario), and other applicable legislation.
Previous experience participating audits and inspections for internal audits, with the ability to respond to findings and make recommendations to assigned facilities.
Excellent written skills in English with the capability to prepare written technical letters, reports, and procedures.
Our successful candidate will have intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Valid Class G Ontario driverâ€™s license and a personal vehicle is a MUST
If you have experience working in or with the Indigenous (First Nations, MÃ tis, or Inuit) community , weâ€™d love to hear about it, as this is an asset for the role.
Must be available outside of regular working hours for emergencies
Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Must be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time
Must be willing to relocate to Thunder Bay OR Brantford, Ontario
