Are you looking for a role where you will develop, oversee, implement, and manage the compensation strategies that support business strategies and objectives in the North America (NAM) region?

As the NAM Compensation Manager, you will play a key role in helping Bic attract, motivate, develop, and retain a high performing and engaged workforce.

A Direct Report to our VP, Total Rewards, you will have opportunities to lead large, complex, and multiple projects that help drive business strategies.

You will perform complex research and analysis on compensation policies and practices in the areas of job evaluation, base salary, variable pay, pay structures, internal equity, external market trends, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provides strategic and operational support in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of our Compensation for the NAM.
  • Including counselling and providing advice to HR colleagues and Business Managers on compensation rewards and best practices according to business needs and corporate guidelines, including offers to new hires, compensation changes and bonus / commission plans

  • Participates & Leads Annual Rewards processes such as salary planning, bonus planning, salary surveys, and market reference evaluations for all NAM based positions
  • Responsibility and ownership to complete all job evaluations using the Korn Ferry Hay Methodology for any position located within the US or Canada as well as assist with job evaluations from other countries globally as needed
  • Conducts ongoing benchmarking / market and best practice research & survey analysis to evaluate compensation competitiveness, monitor market trends, interpret results, and make recommendations based on results of compensation surveys for base salary and overall pay for individuals in NAM
  • Sole person responsible for submitting all government mandated reporting for the US and Canada regarding EEO-1 (Component 1 & 2) data, veteran reporting, FMLA administration and reporting, Affirmative Action, Canada CNESST governmental reporting, etc.
  • Manage local relationships and / or partner with compensation and HRIS vendors on annual reviews, system issues, purchasing of data, etc.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders on compensation related matters, provide thoughtful data-driven analysis and help to ensure our compensation processes run smoothly.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required (MBA is preferred)
  • 3-5 years of work experience in compensation, financial analysis, or a similar analytical role is required
  • Experience in the compensation field and / or knowledge of compensation programs and external vendors is preferred
  • Experience working with Success Factors or a similar HCM would also be helpful
  • Must be able to travel quarterly (domestic and international travel)
  • The right candidate is comfortable with data and thrives in a dynamic culture that values strategic communication, teamwork and results.
  • They are a self-starter with a strong orientation to data analytics and project management. They are able to both be strategic and roll up their sleeves.

  • This role is a hybrid role (2 days minimum in the Toronto office)
