Sukhi Dhillon Farm Ltd. is a vegetable farm owned by the family operating in Richmond BC. We are committed to farming using sustainable and restorative techniques.

The Farm Manager is a key leadership position that provides oversight and management of work crews and remain in tight communications with the farm owner. Job Duties :

  • Work closely with the farm owner in order to develop and model proper and efficient techniques and systems;
  • Manage, oversee and inspire farm staff in the daily operations of the farm;
  • Present hiring recommendations to the farm owner, train new staff in regard to established farm standards;
  • Provide development / advancement opportunities for farm staff;
  • Schedule staff, assign day-to-day tasks, and ensure farm is managed in a sustainable fashion;
  • Work with farm owner to select the variety of crops to plant; and develop and implement planting schedules;
  • Scout for disease and insect infestations and take immediate action;
  • Manage cover cropping, composting, planting, cultivating, irrigating, weed control, pest management, and all aspects of soil management;
  • Record and document daily work flows, project lists, and maintain detailed records of harvests, maintenance, supplies, productivity, etc.;
  • May be required to research and negotiate pricing for farm purchases (machinery, pesticides, seeds, etc.)
  • May be required to do general farm work, building repairs, maintenance, supply runs, etc. as needed;
  • May be required to operate a variety of mechanical equipment (including tractors, seeders, irrigation systems, electrical interfaces, etc.);
