We are currently recruiting for Account Managers who will be working client-side, integrated within an in-house media group.
This exciting opportunity will have category-specific assignments, requiring a strong working knowledge of the marketing and retail landscape, expertise across paid, owned and earned media, as well as robust digital media experience.
Position Summary :
The role of the Account Manager is to manage holistic media programs, with a strong focus on digital, through ideating, preparing and presenting media plans, proposals, and analysis.
The Account Manager is responsible for understanding category and vendor objectives, to convert into strong media recommendations, to deliver on KPIs.
This role will interact with strategic vendors as a secondary point of contact and will support Category Marketing to finalize annual and ad hoc plans.
This individual will utilize best practices, principles, strategies and process from start to finish while ensuring consistent quality and output on projects.
This role requires you to work as part of an integrated team to ensure media programs are grounded in insights resulting in flawless media executions.
Work with internal partners in the preparation, writing and presentation of integrated media plans, proposals and analysis that satisfy vendor objectives and go beyond the brief.
Confidently and effectively communicate with key stakeholders to address needs of the category (e.g. ensure campaigns launch according to plan, address questions quickly with appropriate communication, flag concerns, etc.)
Ensure that all media plans adhere to best practices.
Develop a thorough, ongoing knowledge of vendor businesses in order to provide creative solutions to their businesses through media opportunities.
Actively participate in idea development and solution strategy sessions to ensure the business is consistently evolving and optimizing.
Define key program metrics as part of selling materials, and ensure proper analysis is completed and shared with client partners, leveraging the internal measurement team, tools and resources.
Provide clear stakeholder hand offs to ensure seamless execution. Monitor work flow for quality, timeliness and appropriate resources.
Work alongside operations partners and category marketing to recommend optimized activations where possible, in collaboration with client partners.
Ensure detailed media briefings and purchase authorizations are developed as required from client, to share back with the execution team.
Ensure clear communication with execution teams (e.g. involvement in briefs, provide guidance and direction on buying conditions, etc.)
Build and maintain respectful internal client and vendor relationships.
Post-Secondary education University graduate and / or advertising / marketing College degree preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in digitally-led media planning.
Full understanding of the paid, owned and earned media ecosystem, and the roles of various digital channels.
Strong understanding of trafficking and website tagging processes.
Proficient with media research tools (e.g. Clear Decisions, Vividata, Nielsen, comScore) and media partners (e.g. Bell, Rogers Media, Corus, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
Ability to develop positive on-going business relationships with a focus on client service.
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships and partnerships.
Proficient in data analysis, emerging media and technology.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Highly developed organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
Ability to develop and foster relationships with media partners.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Ability to travel as required.
