    Job Summary

    The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) role models clinical excellence and the core competencies of the practice standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), as well as those of Southlake Regional Health Centre.

    The RPN will adhere to all policies, procedures and standards of care as set out by SRHC. The RPN works collaboratively, using evidence informed practice, as an integral member of the interprofessional health care team and provides patient centred care based on the three-factor framework of the CNO : Environment, Client, and Nurse.

    The RPN positively represents the mission, vision, and values of Southlake. In the Emergency Department, the RPN provides care autonomously to designated patient types in designated areas and works collaboratively as part of the team to support patient care throughout the department.


  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Non Violence Crisis Intervention Certification required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Will complete education for delegated controlled act of Splinting within 6 months of hire
  • 1-2 years Emergency Department experience, preferred
  • Demonstrates excellence in communication, customer service focus, teamwork / collaboration, analysis / problem assessment, individual leadership and safety awareness
