Business Development

  • Establishes and develops strong, trusting client relationships with key decision makers in existing and potential client and partner companies
  • Prepares a well thought out and coordinated plan and strategy for business development activities
  • Defines and implements client-specific sales strategies for new and existing products and services, with strong focus on gaining market share
  • Identifies and quantifies sales opportunities and volumes for new product line through current and future partners
  • Develops new partnerships, ventures and solution proposals to maximize additional new business premiums
  • Identifies new ways to improve selling and distribution processes
  • Enhances the business development process with strong market presence with clients, partners and within the industry at large
  • Works with the trade marketing team to develop strategies to engage potential clients
  • Innovation Development

  • Identifies new product, services and distribution strategies through unique partnerships, new ventures and distribution channels ensuring profitable growth and works with internal stakeholders to develop these concepts for take to market
  • Executes seamless product implementations with clients as a lead point of contact by delivering training and support as required, direct and through partners
  • People Leadership

  • Leads a team of two sales and account management employees
  • Inspires and develops direct reports and team members
  • Helps expand and grow the sales team as a way to exceed sales targets
  • Your profile

  • Fluency in both English and French (both written and spoken) are required
  • 5+ years of progressively senior experience in the insurance or software business in a sales management or business development
  • Background in insurance distributions and sales process is highly desired
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques with proved track record of sales performance and achievement
  • Strong relationship skills and presence with a proven track record of creating, developing and maintaining a strong business partnerships
  • Ability to build relationships outside the traditional insurance industry
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels of the organization
  • Experienced presenter before groups and effectively manages question and answer sessions. Strong analytical skills; excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Keen strategic thinking, business acumen and problem solving skills
  • People leadership and team development experience required
  • Well-developed organization skills, with the ability to analyze current processes and procedures and recommend and implement improvements
  • Able to manage a number of diverse projects, channels and partners
  • Ability to travel ( 60%+ of the time)
