A Day in the Life

The Canning Line Manager is an experienced line operator who is confident with canning procedures and maintenance. They are the leader for the canning line operators and understand the service being provided to customers.

The Canning Line Manager is responsible for providing direction to the Canning team membrs, maintaining supplies and equipment (including lines, vehicles, tools and maintenance), developing and implementing SOPs all while ensuring a focus on safety, quality standards and efficiency.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Responsible for leadership of Mobile Canning Team including hiring & onboarding, training and development, performance management and reviews
  • Establish self as first point of contact for Canning Line Operators. Answer questions or concerns they have and troubleshooting any issues with the canning line equipment
  • Oversees staff scheduling including approval of hours and effective time off approval and scheduling
  • Effectively schedules canning lines, trucks and travel to meet operational requirements
  • Accountable for Quality Control and Preventative Maintenance including overseeing canning line maintenance
  • Ensures that all duties and tasks can be delegated to and covered by appropriate team members
  • Fosters a team environment with a focus on training and development of team members
  • Demonstrates timely, effective and clear communication with members of all teams and customers

    Qualifications & Must Have

  • High school education required - Brewing, management or production training or education will be considered an asset
  • 2-3 years of canning experience
  • Background in production with knowledge of packaging and canning processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to understand the mobile canning units and be able to diagnose and make necessary repairs
  • Skillful communicator with ability to communicate clearly with canning team members on logistics, scheduling, troubleshooting, and expectations
  • Efficient and manages time well with the drive to improve processes and procedures
  • Physically able to perform job duties
  • Takes ownership and personal responsibility for their actions and accountabilities.
  • Expresses entrepreneurial soul and actively pursues opportunities for innovation.
  • Displays and advocates for honest, transparent communication.
  • Leads with courage and integrity, makes space for self and others to take chances.
