The Medical Science Liaison - Cardiovascular (MSL-CV) is responsible for providing cardiovascular-related scientific, clinical and therapeutic area information to a variety of external and internal customers.
He / she is also responsible for providing information on the appropriate utilization of specific products and with more general information about their therapeutic area and disease state.
This field-based position will proactively build healthcare provider support, by using a scientific approach that is aligned with the objectives and therapeutic area medical plan.
The MSL-CV will need to be a credible and valued representative of the company in a variety of interactions with key stakeholders across their territory.
As an MSL-CV, you will provide actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of products to internal stakeholders, respond to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of products and services and deliver appropriate clinical and scientific information.
Develop relationships with various HCPs and providing them with credible, fair balanced, scientific information about products, therapeutic areas, research activities, and product development
Advance strategies to develop selected HCPs as Key Opinion Leaders depending on their specific interests, enthusiasm for, or experience with our products.
Provide balanced medical information for HCPs and answer questions about safety and use of products based on available scientific data
Scientific support of formulary submissions for new products.
Execute territory planning in collaboration with the Medical Director along with the commercial team and identify a focus of effort
Act as an expert on the products and their therapeutic areas. This will involve regular and extensive reviews of the literature, developing presentations and assisting with publications and medical communications
Participate in scientific meetings and attend appropriate scientific congresses and conferences, and the company therapeutic area training sessions to maintain a current knowledge base and to develop competitive intelligence on other products
Play a role in internal training and communication with the Medical, Brand Team and territory managers.
5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience required.
Comparable experience in cardiovascular disease preferred.
Master's degree and / or Health care professional background desirable.
Thorough knowledge of the healthcare system, disease management and medical research.
Availability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time. Evening and weekend work can be involved.
Solid understanding of GCP an industry code of practice.
