Job Summary

Zenabis is currently hiring for an Accounting Clerk. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and bookkeeping functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with keeping the financial functions up-to-date, including timely and accurate accounting of full cycle accounts payable / receivable, preparing reports, and reconciling banks and other accounts, as well as other ad hoc duties.

The ideal candidate should be familiar with all accounting procedures, have attention to details, work with minimal supervision, well organized and have great time management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws
  • Accurately input data of financial transactions and prepare / maintain accounting documents and records
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Process bills, checks, receipts, and other documents
  • Research / resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies. Reconcile accounts and report status in a timely manner
  • Ensure all documents are properly approved and distributed. Verify financial and other data (e.g. tax identification numbers)
  • Assist and support with accounting related requests and queries, both internal / external to the organization
  • Compile reports / summaries on activity areas for management teams
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years' experience in a financial and / or accounting clerical role (e.g., accounts payable, accounts receivable), ideally within the manufacturing industry
  • Post-secondary degree / certification in finance / accounting is considered an asset
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Self-starter and motivator who enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage a fluctuating workload, multiple projects, and priorities, pro-actively
  • A deep sense of curiosity, and interest in continuous learning

    Working Hours

    Salaried Position : Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

    This position will require after hours or extended hours based on activity
