The Food Bank Driver is part of a skilled team that supports individuals and families in dealing with issues of food security, poverty, social isolation and opportunity.
The Food Bank Driver works as part of our team to pick up, deliver, and disturb food for our programs.This position helps maintain positive relationships with a variety of our partners.
Picks-up and delivers food to a variety of programs and partners on a weekly basis.
Operates delivery vehicle safely in accordance with the rules of the road.
Maintains relationships with partners and contacts.
Assists the warehouse coordinator in the storage of food.
Assists in maintaining the Food Bank fleet of vehicles.
Assists other programs such as the Christmas Bureau.
Assist with tasks related to the overall operation of the Food Bank.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification :
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract.
Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
At least 1 year experience in a customer service position
Some experience in driving vans, fork lifts and other machinery is an asset
Knowledge and Skill Set
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.Able to communicate effectively and respectfully with a variety of people.
Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Prepared to work outside daily in any weather
This position works on Saturdays and Sundays
Some physical labour, able to lift 50 pounds
