We are seeking an Associate Dean, Computing to provide educational and administrative leadership for over 90 full-time and part-

time faculty, serving over 3000 students. Programs include certificate, diploma and degrees across program areas : Computer Systems Technology Diploma, Computer Information Technology Diploma, Bachelors of Technology Degree, High Tech Professional programs, and Computing Part-

time Studies. The Associate Dean acts as an advocate for students, staff and their program areas.The Associate Dean recognizes opportunities and changes in the IT, computing and related industry sectors.

These will be addressed through planning and enabling appropriate change initiatives to ensure currency, program quality and viability of programs in areas of responsibility.

The incumbent will provide leadership that connects the Computing area to the strategic initiatives of the Institute. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Establishing and fostering external relationships with industry, professional organizations, educational institutions and other bodiesManaging departmental issues related to education such as enrollments and student successBuilding relationships with programs and support areas as appropriate to the areas of responsibilityAdministering the operating budget allocated to the areas of responsibility and securing revenue objectives through part-

time Studies and Industry ServicesContributing as a member of the Institute's management team Associate Dean, Computing DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Master's degree minimum
  • Eight to ten years of directly related experience in business / industry, including post-secondary teaching experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Strong leadership skills, good organizational skills and a high degree of self-motivation and proven business acumen
  • Demonstrated effective and positive management style for people team leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, which are necessary to establish and sustain relationships and rapport
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customers
  • Familiar with office software and state of the art information and educational technology
