The associate in this role leads the Maximo implementation from start to completion, provides implementation leadership, works closely with the project manager, has functional expertise, assigns tasks to junior staff, coordinates with technical lead, author functional requirement document, develop and conduct training classes , lead the development and implementation of solutions and prepare quality project deliverables as needed.

In addition, the Functional Architect may be asked to work closely with Business Development Managers to lead the pre-sales process, including input on proposals and providing demonstrations / presentations to clients.

  • Workshop planning, facilitation, requirements documentation, preparation of deliverables, and project coordination with project manager
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure adherence to project schedule and budget
  • Conduct Client Interviews as per EMA’s guidelines
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients
  • Lead effort along with Business Development Manager, for the business development process through proposal development, responding to RFPs, estimating level of effort & schedule, and develop sales presentations
  • Prepare papers and present at conferences to market EMA’s services
  • Publish articles in industry magazines and journals to support and further EMA’s image as a leading provider for the Practice’s services
  • Confer with clients to define functional business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development
  • Lead client workshops on training and administration of new programs, applications and databases
  • Participate in client meetings, take lead role in discussions along with the project manager
  • Gauge the effectiveness for efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Define and document business process flow diagrams that are relevant to work and asset management in Cities and Utilities.
  • Capture and document business, technical, and functional requirements for enterprise software system implementation.
  • Perform fit gap analysis between requirements as captured and software system capabilities.
  • Create functional specifications and system design for the configuration and build of enterprise systems
  • Lead and execute the design and delivery of system testing including; unit, integration, functional, regression, and user acceptance testing
  • Build training plan and associated curriculum for end user and / or train the trainer approaches, to include user, administrator, power user, and trainer roles
  • Lead efforts with the Practice Group Manager, Principal Consultants and Senior Consultants to develop resources, methods and tools for delivering practice team services to clients
  • Support the Practice Group Manager in creating an environment for expertise development by encouraging knowledge-sharing and individual & team learning.
  • Skills :

  • Written communication skills for writing reports, proposals, meeting minutes, workshop materials and correspondence with clients.
  • Listening skills; ability to translate client needs and develop them into future business, develop long-term relationships with clients.
  • Verbal communication skills for data collection, conflict resolution, client software demos, stand-up presentations, workshop facilitation, and persuasion.
  • Decision making skills for setting precedents within limits and / or administration of operating rules and procedures under management guidance.
  • Problem solving skills for performing advanced troubleshooting or analysis and using judgment to select from multiple known alternatives.
  • Documentation skills for creation of diagrams, plans, presentations, and technical documentation associated with an enterprise system implementation
  • Advanced MS Access / MS SQL, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio. Proficient with Deltek tools.

  • 6-8 years of Maximo system design or operation experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • Solid understanding of in the water / waste water and city public works industry;
  • General understanding of other utility business services;

  • Asset Management life cycle implementation experience
  • Experience with Maximo for Utilities, Maximo Spatial
  • Optional experience implementing Maximo HSE, Transportation,
