Qualifications

Here is what you need to get an interview :

oCompleted or enrolled in Degree / Diploma in human services field (Addictions, Psychology, Social Work, Child and Youth Care Counselling or equivalent).

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

oExperience working with families or youth.

oDetailed knowledge of community resources and understanding of issues related to and including homelessness, trauma and addiction.

oExceptional interpersonal, engagement and communication skills.

oReliable vehicle, a valid Driver’s Licence, Driver’s Abstract and insurance to carry passengers with minimum $2 million Third Party Liability Insurance.

oClear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Record check dated within the past six months.

oValid First Aid Certificate; Standard First CPR Level C preferred

Responsibilities

Here is how you will contribute as a Live-In Residential Advisor :

oProvide care and support for up to eight youth ages 16-24 in the Youthopia apartment building.

  • oCreate positive interactions to enhance social skills, recreational opportunities, and connection to the community for youth;
  • help youth using a strengths-based, participant-centered approach.

    oMonitor and enforce building guidelines outside of normal business hours, evenings, and weekends.

    Here is what we have to offer you :

    oFurnished one-bedroom apartment provided with rent and utilities included. (Estimated value $800 monthly).

    oMonthly honorarium of $500 with a taxable housing benefit of $800 per month.

    oFree internet + access to streaming service. (Estimated $100 monthly).

    oBuilding amenities including free Onsite laundry facilities, fenced-in patio and BBQ area (open to all residence)

    oPets accepted with pre-approval.

    oBuilding is close to a park and in the downtown area.

    oNo smoking in the apartments.

    Pay Rate

    $500 monthly honorarium
