The University and Employment Preparation Department (Faculty of Education and Social Work) at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a sessional lecturer to prepare and instruct the following Adult Basic Education course as part of a cohort delivery in Fall 2019 :

ENGL 0400 - Basic Language Skills

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to enter higher level courses. It is based on the following core skills : vocabulary development, reading, writing and study skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Teaching Certificate or Instructor's Diploma
  • Experience teaching adults
  • Proven skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy and mutual respect
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
  • Teaching excellence including developing culturally appropriate curricula
