Reporting to the Director Customer Enablement, the Lead Billing Enablement Analyst is an integral role in ensuring the O2C process is as frictionless as possible for both the Sales team and our customers.

This role will partner proactively with Sales to drive value with our customers through contract reviews, through collections support, driving great business partnerships with Sales.

The purpose of the Lead Billing Enablement Analyst, as part of the Billing Operations team, is to provide guidance through the sales cycle specific to billing and collections requirements in order to optimize OpenText’s cash collection targets, whilst meeting corporate policies and audit requirements.

In addition, you will help to define and improve the contracting processes through participation in various internal working groups and works with and supports other members of the group and the director as necessary.

Creative thinking along with deal contract negotiations with customers alongside sales & legal and innovative contracting strategies and structures that fulfill the customer’s requirements, whilst maximizing collectability and revenue for OpenText and reducing risk exposure and following corporate policies and audit requirements.


  • Understanding contracts, billing, and collections processes.
  • Working closely with Sales and other teams that support the deal cycle such as Legal, Revenue Operations, AR / Collections, as well as Revenue Recognition to enhance value and consistency across all geographic regions.
  • Communicating with Sales and senior executives to provide billing messaging and to review specific transactions, seeking necessary contractual approvals as required by internal corporate policy.
  • Participating in, or leading as required, commercial & contractual business terms negotiations with customers and internal stakeholders specific to the coordination of Billing and Payments aspects of the deals, whilst always ensuring that the company’s interests and customer needs are maintained.
  • Enhancing existing processes to streamline the contracts generation & negotiation part of the sales cycle.
  • Track and report on regional contract activity, timelines, and other metrics as required
  • Ensure full documentation of each contract is stored for audit purposes.

  • 8+ years of relevant Program / Process / Project Management experience specifically in quote to cash with highly developed applicable skills
  • Has extensive expertise in sales, invoicing and collections processes and best practices and is viewed as a trusted advisor to the Senior Opentext Sales Organisation.
  • Applies expertise to multiple aspects of a project. Possesses highly developed professional technical expertise, which is applied to complex customer negotiations and billing processes / projects, specifically the impact contractual language and agreements can have on time to invoice and cash collections

  • Understanding of Professional Services delivery and Cloud hosting operations as well as Software Licensing.
  • Ability to work as part of a sales team to contribute subject matter expertise in support of a successful sales outcome.
  • Uses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to Interact with internal groups and customers to assist in the negotiation and resolution of specific requirements.
  • Interacts directly with senior management and customers to effectively coordinate and influence.

  • Acts as a mentor, demonstrates leadership attributes and shares professional expertise. Assists in the training and evaluation of other Billing Operations staff regarding customer interactions and negotiations as an SME.
  • May plan, assign and direct the work of others who do not directly report to yourself.

  • Demonstrated willingness to take full ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks and support issues.
  • Assessment of the requirements for OpenText and our customers which involves both the identification and analysis of multiple factors or variables.
  • Creative and innovative solutions are frequently required in addition to the application of expertise to ensure acceptable commercial outcomes for both parties.

    Also includes working with legal on the specific contractual requirement of the outcomes

  • Experience in delivering high quality guidance against challenging timelines.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, and ability to work with contracts teams for drafting commercial language.
  • Works independently on assignments of a complex nature where initiative and creativity are required in resolving problems and / or developing recommendations often to a very tight timescale due to financial deadlines.
