Baker Tilly HMA LLP is currently recruiting for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team in The Pas.

  • As part of the Baker Tilly Canada network we provide coast to coast coverage of Canada through 50 different office locations;

    In this role you won’t just get a chance to be a part of the Baker Tilly HMA LLP team, you will be able to shape our team in The Pas as they grow.

    Providing guidance on our diverse engagement portfolio covering, assurance, compilation, review, tax; across areas including Indigenous services, automotive dealerships, insurance, medical and legal professionals, not-for-profits, hospitality and tourism, construction and so much more.

    You will have direct contact with our client base and be expected to nurture those relationships.

  • The Partners in the firm will provide you with the necessary support you need to be successful in the role but will be looking to you to execute engagements relatively independently;
  • utilizing the staff to their potential and stepping in where necessary to hit multiple deadlines every month.

    Your primary responsibilities will include :

    Under the supervision of Partners :

  • Lead in the completion of multiple engagements for a variety of clients;
  • Participate in consulting engagements or special assignments and identify client service opportunities;
  • Supervise, develop and lead junior staff;
  • Complete corporate and personal income tax returns;
  • Communicate directly with clients.
  • A successful candidate will have :

  • Multiple years accounting experience;
  • A solid foundation of accounting and assurance education with experience executing Audit, Notice to Reader and Review engagements;
  • Experience preparing tax returns. Corporate, Personal, Trust; as well as T4s and T5s;
  • Experience supervising staff on multiple engagements;
  • Experience with Caseware, Profile, Sage 300 (ACCPAC), Sage 50 (Simply Accounting) and QuickBooks is valued;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills particularly MS Excel;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels.
