Position Summary

The Craft Recruiting Coordinator works’ closely with Kiewit’s Trade Talent Acquisition Advisors in Canada, with a focus on Western Canada operations, to provide full cycle recruitment support and ensure flawless candidate experience.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our candidates and external stakeholders and be heavily relied upon to provide excellent customer service in the form of email and telephone communication.


  • Tackle high volume recruitment calls with urgency and candidate care to secure qualified candidates for review / interview.
  • Develop relationships with candidates, ensuring each candidate has a positive recruiting experience with our organization.
  • Answer general employment questions from potential applicants, via phone, e-mail, social media, and / or text messaging.
  • Read and accurately assess resumes for various trade job opportunities within the organization.
  • Provide back-up support in full cycle trades recruitment including sourcing and pre-screening resumes with prospective candidates, via online boards, internal database, recruitment events and additional creative methods to determine both skill and cultural fit for positions.
  • Maintain database / profile and filing systems for all current, past and potential employees.
  • Assess active and passive pipelined candidates from internet databases, social media, contact lists, internal databases, job boards, and employee referrals.
  • Collect and upload required certifications and training documentation relevant to each position into appropriate database
  • Promote data integrity within all recruitment sources, internal applicant tracking system, and any additional electronic or physical system of access.
  • Support the Apprenticeship program to ensure compliance with Apprenticeship Industry Training (AIT).
  • Provide onboarding support as required.
  • Support other initiatives and projects in the team; provide administrative support to HR and recruitment teams as required
  • Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of administrative experience supporting Recruitment functions.
  • Human Resources experience working within an industrial construction environment preferred but not required.
  • Completion of Grade 12 diploma
  • Office Administration Diploma or Certificate in progress or complete an asset but not required
  • Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as : MS Office suite of tools and SharePoint
  • Ability to appropriately handle highly confidential information and situations.
  • Requires excellent organizational and communication skills, the ability to work with a wide variety of people and prioritize tasks.
  • Must have friendly inbound phone customer service skills and the ability to multi-task between phone and applicant systems (speaking and typing).
  • Experience with SAP or other HRIS system beneficial.
  • Knowledge of industrial construction and craft disciplines preferred, but not required.
  • Work Environment

    This individual operates within a dynamic team environment and manages a broad range of daily activities which contribute to the delivery of exceptional skilled trade recruitment support to our clients while effectively meeting deadlines.

    Support is provided primarily to the Talent Acquisition functions, but may cross all HR functional disciplines. Service delivery is key as this role supports a high volume of requests with short deadlines.
