The Installation & Repair Technician will be responsible for ensuring the installation and repair of Business and Residential services are responded to and processed in a timely manner with a professional approach to customer satisfaction.


  • At all times, the Installation & Repair Technician is responsible for the ensuring the health & safety of themselves and customers in an environmentally friendly manner
  • Responsible for installing residential and business voice & data services and applications; other installation and repair as assigned;
  • voice, high speed internet and television services

  • Ensure customer expectations, through inquiries and requests, are met and exceeded with a high level of service
  • Communicate accurate details regarding the progress of the installation & repair and applicable charges, as well as any issues that may arise, to customers
  • Promote all client products and services including up-selling when appropriate
  • Provide accurate information on all job statuses; communicating any delays to the Frontline Manager and Dispatcher
  • Accountable for ensuring all prepared time sheets and expense reports are accurate and submitted on time
  • Follow all safety policies and initiatives and bring forth any recommendations; attend safety meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Diploma or equivalent experience within the Telecommunications industry
  • Working knowledge of Copper and Fiber Infrastructure an asset
  • Read and interpret published work plans
  • Analytically and mechanically inclined
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and able to provide an Drivers’ Abstract and be willing to travel
  • Customer focused both internally and externally; ability to handle both favorable and unfavorable customers
  • Able to manipulate and climb ladders and poles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines and frequent demanding deadlines
  • Ability to self-start and stay on task with minimal supervision; identify problems and situations and implement solutions or escalate as required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong work ethic; exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • Can-Do attitude and works well within a team environment
  • Commit to continuous learning; ability to learn and apply learned skills and complete and pass all related exams

  • Able to lift, carry and manipulate 75 lb extension ladder and climb poles with spurs
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts as assigned (evenings, weekends & statutory holidays), based on business need
  • Must be willing to Travel
  • Ability to work independently in all weather conditions
