PURPOSE AND ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the manager of systems development, the incumbent will be working on projects in an Agile environment to develop, modify and document analyses according to architecture specifications and business rules.
This is a senior business analyst role with additional technical and reporting responsibilities.
What will I be doing?
The core function of our business analysts is to participate in requirements gathering sessions with subject matter experts to determine what the impact of our projects will be on our business partners (external) and the departments and processes within our organisation.
You’ll diagnose problems that interfere with the smooth running of our systems and develop, coordinate and document solutions.
You’ll need to accurately document business processes and procedures including business rules and requirements whilst helping our stakeholders determine their operational needs, so system functionalities can be developed or modified.
In addition to your business analyst duties, you’ll be responsible for delivering business intelligence reports. It will be your responsibility to ensure these are of a high standard with regards quality, content and the efficiency in which they’re delivered.
You’ll help to improve data quality of all data layers (Data Warehouse, Data Marts, Reports) and assist multiple lines of business to define and modify processes to enhance the quality of operational systems’ data.
We’ll need you to help stakeholders to determine their reporting needs and define & harmonize reporting metrics. You may need to answer ad hoc inquiries relating to building and running scripts and extracts using Microsoft SQL Server.
What will I need to be successful?
Ideally, we’re looking for someone with a testing background who will be able to identify acceptance criteria and feel comfortable dealing with pressure from the project stakeholders (internal and external).
Detail orientation and strong documentation are paramount in this position and knowledge of project management and Lean.
Applied knowledge of Agile will be essential to your success.
