In order to deliver several diversified projects in building engineering, our Structure team in the Ottawa / Gatineau region is looking for a senior technician with good analytical skills and advanced practical knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD software.

As a senior drafting technician in building structure, your mission will consist of carrying out structural projects through active participation in design activities and the production of drawings in compliance with CIMA+’s high quality standards.

You will be involved in various regional and provincial projects of small, medium, and large scale in the residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors, assuming various levels of responsibility.

You will be able to enjoy hybrid work conditions (telework, field work and office work), and choose between working from being based either in our Ottawa or Gatineau offices.

Primary responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the design and production of drawings and specifications for building structural projects
  • Develop and prepare models and structural drawings using REVIT and AutoCAD software (wood, steel, and reinforced concrete frameworks)
  • Ensure compliance with the quality assurance system
  • Solve technical problems requiring research and in-depth analysis
  • Ensure coordination with the other disciplines (architecture, electromechanical and civil engineering, etc.)
  • Carry out site surveys (on occasion)
  • Provide technical assistance to site supervisors
  • Assist in workshop drawing verification
  • Profile

  • College degree (DCS) in civil engineering, architecture, or an equivalent
  • At least seven years of relevant experience in commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial structural engineering
  • Excellent practical knowledge of REVIT and AutoCAD software
  • Experience in building structural drawing
  • Knowledge of structural design standards
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modelling - BIM (an asset)
  • Bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written)
