The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and managing the planning, reporting and analytical tools and processes necessary to successfully support the business leaders in each branch or division.

This position will provide operational and financial analysis for optimizing current business segments, as well as financial projections.

The Senior Financial Analyst is charged with ensuring that accurate financial results are reported for Branch Operations, that sound business acumen and key financial targets are applied to decisions and that controls are in place that ensures the integrity of reported results and safeguards the assets of Bayshore HealthCare Ltd.


  • Provide financial and operational analysis to improve decision-making for both internal stakeholders and the Executive Leadership Committee.
  • Validate actual operating results against pro forma assumptions contained in the original business case for each project.
  • Ability to work with non-financial managers, ensuring that they understand the financial aspects of their branch operations.
  • To understand the financial drivers of assigned Branches and be able to conduct insightful analysis and discussion with National and Area Directors on improving Financial Performance.
  • Provide decision support and take ownership for forward thinking to complex business planning, ongoing line of business information analysis, competitive and industry trend analysis, business metrics analysis and business performance measurement.
  • Work with Business leads to gather inputs & key assumptions for planning and assessing new business opportunities.
  • Analyze and identify root cause on key variances. Take ownership in reaching out to business leas to provide recommendations on next steps.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis, including development of KPI’s for the businesses, targets setting and business cases.
  • Have the ability to highlight and escalate issues to Management as required.
  • Develop and monitor metrics focused on P&L, Balance Sheet and free cash flow.
  • Define and communicate the evaluation of corrective action plans to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to ensure reliability and accuracy of financial reporting and that compliance requirements are met.
  • Preparation, review and reporting ofthe financial performance for branch operations ensuring best practices and performance objectives are achieved.
  • Lead, Assist and Participate in continuous process improvements including enhancing internal controls.
  • Special Projects and Analysis.
  • Presentation of Financial Results to Senior Management.
  • Manage reporting of branch performance in a complex de-centralized environment for multiple businesses and business lines requiring in-depth analysis to optimize performance.
  • Must be able to interpret ideas and provide financial data to support those ideas.

    Ability to understand business concepts / practices and turn them into feasible projects.A significant amount of time will be spent in this area as we look to streamline and optimize current tools and processes.

    Review and assess quarterly projections for the current year and annual operating plans.Must be able to assess the impact of manager spending decisions, market conditions, and economic impacts.

    Deliver results in a timely manner.

    Ability to manage multiple projects with varying levels of complexity and business risk.

    Prepare and present financial data to the senior leadership teams.Must be able to interpret the needs of the group and present concise data to meet those needs.

    Comfort around senior management is a key skill set.

    Participate in ongoing internal and / or external continuing education activities.

    Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines.

    Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.

    Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.

    Other duties as assigned.


    Post-Secondary Degree in a recognized accounting program.

    CPA designation preferred.

    MBA is considered an asset.


    4+ years of relevant experience (preferably in Healthcareindustry), strong interpersonal and communication skills are required tointeract effectively with the Senior Management and Branch Management.

    Strong leadership and influencing skillsrequired to deliver national objectives in a de-centralized structure.A combination of financial and operationalexperience is an asset.

    Other Skills andAbilities

    Demonstratedability to develop and implement improvements in controls, procedures,reporting, and value added analysis.Advancedskills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and financial modeling required.

    Workingknowledge of ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.The working conditions for this position arepredominantly in an office environment.
