We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Consultant for the central Canada region, primarily in the Greater Toronto Area.

Job Summary

As a Regional Sales Consultant, you'll be responsible for generating sustainable growth throughout the region by developing new and existing distributors to promote and sell our door hardware and hollow metal solutions.

You'll report directly to the Regional Director of Sales and will be responsible for architectural hardware, hollow metal and electro-mechanical sales within Central Ontario.

Contract Hardware Distributors and other resellers are the key areas of focus in addition to driving brand awareness to any influencer as required.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and build strong relationships with our existing customer base
  • Develop plans on how to establish and maintain account relationships and develop a business plan for each account resulting in increased sales
  • Facilitate and deliver promotional initiatives and drive new product launches; conduct frequent sales presentations
  • Identify new product / business opportunities based on customer needs
  • Generate sales per assigned accounts that meet and exceed budget plans;
  • Generate and follow-up on quotes and leads
  • Use business data to guide the execution of sales strategy and performance in the territory
  • Assist management in developing and communicating a sales direction and market strategy
  • Be responsive and attentive to both external and internal customer needs and assist in the resolution of any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide or coordinate one-on-one or group training as required
  • Attend trade shows and travel as required
  • Provide timely and accurate activity reporting utilizing available corporate reporting tools
  • Work collaboratively with other team members in alignment with End Users, architects and specification objectives
  • Other projects as assigned
  • Your Education and Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years sales experience, preferably in the door security or related industry;
  • Post Secondary education in a related field;
  • Experience selling opening solutions as a consultant using a communicative approach that can be effective with a diverse audience is highly desirable
  • Your Key Competencies

  • Essential skill requirements include : planning, selling, marketing, contract management, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with sales leadership qualities
  • Proven track record of building strong business relationships with customers
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and identify sales opportunities, troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
  • Listening skills : An ability to listen to and understand a customer's issues / needs and then translate this to an action plan
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
  • Computer skills including word processing, excel, powerpoint and CRM tools
  • Experience with electromechanical hardware and hollow metal are definite assets
  • Physical Demands and Working Conditions :

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of sample and display material for sales presentations
  • Ability to travel in within the assigned territory up to 90% of the time
  • Ability to travel across Canada and occasionally into the U.S. (for training & trade shows)
  • Valid drivers' license in good standing
