Our Montreal office is looking for a Junior Accounting Technician who will be responsible for providing accounting services to our clients.
The incumbent must be able to work within a confidential environment, be flexible and adaptable to the multiple requirements of the role.
The candidate must also be capable of working independently within a team environment and available for client visits.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Bookkeeping for various clients including cash receipts, cash disbursements, bank reconciliation, GST / HST / QST / DAS reports;
Assistance with various payroll calculations and support;
Provide support to clients on set-up of accounting systems and on questions regarding various bookkeeping issues;
Good knowledge of sales taxes;
Good knowledge of payroll and deductions at source.
Education and Professional Skills / Knowledge
Post-secondary education with at least one year experience in accounting;
Knowledge of various accounting software (Simply Accounting, Quickbooks, Acomba, and cloud-based accounting software) and excellent MS Office skills;
Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English;
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
Ability to prioritize with the flexibility to manage workload demands and multiple tasks, as required, and work with a minimum of supervision;
Experience with Caseware is an asset;
Good team spirit.
