Tri-County Mennonite Homes is looking for a Dietary Students. If you are a very motivated student, you are invited to apply.

Reporting to the Director of Nutrition Services, the Dietary Student is responsible for serving food, dishwashing, and other related duties.

They are also responsible to aid with food preparation under the cook's direction.

Role Requirements :

  • Able to operate kitchen utensils and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature change.
  • Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be open to new knowledge and changes in the healthcare and food service fields.
  • Must be able to relate, communicate and co-operate effectively with staff, residents, residents' families, and the public.
  • Must be able to exhibit maturity, good judgment, and flexibility.
  • Exhibit and maintain a high standard of professional knowledge appearance, behaviour and attitude.
  • Possess physical and mental capabilities to provide quality resident care.
  • Must show genuine concern for the elderly.
  • Knowledge of basic nutrition and special diet needs of individual residents.
  • Safe food handling certification.
  • Food serving experience considered an asset.
