The works on all aspects of Supply Chain, Market Assessment, Procurement, and Contract activities to support Stantec projects for clients.
This position is also accountable for ensuring corporate and client policies, procedures and standards are met in executing project duties.
This position is responsible for all aspects of the procurement lifecycle.
Your Key Responsibilities
Establish effective systems to assess and meet the needs of clients.
Assess and report on the market and commodities related to specific Project needs
Develop Strategies as required to support Project needs which may integrate all project supply, contract and procurement activities and steps
Manage pre-procurement process and activities. Develops prospective bidder lists; pre-qualifies suitable bidders, receives project documents and issues to pre-
qualified bidders tender.
Develop documents and processes to support vendor / supplier selection
Establishes, communicates and audits compliance to procedures and standards for project procurement and supply chain congruent with existing company / client practices and methods.
Establishes and maintains a consolidated database for bidders, suppliers and contractors.
Negotiate or recommends as required contracts for the supply of Commodities, Equipment, Services and Supplies for clients.
Initiate, develop, comprehend, interpit, bid, evaluate, negotiate and issue contracts or purchase orders . Have a working knowledge of technical specifications as required for individual contracts.
Analyze and administer documents for completeness and accuracy to achieve best value.
Ensure that materials, equipment and supplies are purchased at the best overall value within area budget and to meet project schedules.
Manages as required inspections, progress and quality checks
Manages as required logistics, transport, receiving, storage and warehousing
Manages performance assessment activities and related
As part of project teams contributes as required in a timely and professional manner
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong leadership skills, proven negotiation and influencing skills as well as the ability to identify, recommend and implement cost effective efficiencies are required.
Strong communications skills both verbal and written.
Strong ability to plan, organize work and maintain policies and procedures.
Must possess high ethical and professional standards in all dealings with Contractors and Suppliers.
Education and Experience
Experience with the procurement of large capital items and negotiating contracts is essential. Membership in Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is preferable.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
