Join the world’s largest humanitarian network. The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager.

As a Senior Project Manager you will report directly to the Director, Program Management Office (PMO) Corporate Services.

This individual will be responsible to work very closely with the Director PMO, Project Leads, vendor and multiple stakeholders.

They will coordinate and provide visibility to consolidated work plan activities across multiple business units and ensure the CRC project management standards and best practices are met.

  • In this role you will :

  • Provide project management services for identified project.
  • Project will include several WBS from multiple stakeholders managing components of the overall project. Consolidation and overarching project management support is required.
  • Document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business strategy.
  • Prepare project documentation (Project Management Plan, Charter, Team Register etc) reports and ensures that all required project artefacts are developed and maintained in the appropriate project documentation repository as outlined by the PMO Director.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure adequate participation in all phases of the project to ensure project success.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and in conjunction with agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Identify project risks and develops mitigation strategies. Overall RAID log management.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team or escalate as appropriate to Director PMO.
  • Prepare timely updates on status of projects and report to relevant committees and / or working groups including financial status.
  • Proactively manage project scope, identify scope changes and potential impact on budget, schedule assessing options and making recommendations to Director PMO / Executive Steering Committee for decision making.
  • Coach, motivate and guide project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and be accountable for their assigned work.
  • Work as a subject matter expert to support all phases of project life cycle. Deliver and / or participate in workshops, training sessions, presentations and meetings.
  • Conduct project post mortems and creates Lessons Learned / Project Close report to identify project practice successes and areas for improvement.
  • Manage under the direction of the Director the PMO quality management / continuous improvement processes.
  • Promotion and integration of organizational Change Management processes / best practices with CRC project management to ensure client success and sustainability of their project changes.
  • We’re looking for :

  • University Degree or equivalent.
  • PMP certified.
  • PROSI Change Management Certification is an asset, not required.
  • At least 5 -10 years’ experience as a Project Manager. Complex technology - ERP / CRM implementation experience preferred.
  • At least 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager on larger / complex projects that include integrations, data migration, customizations, vendor management etc.
  • Ideally experience working within or with corporate Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Expertise with project management software, such as Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, Jira (Atlassian).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams (Information Services, software / hardware vendors and internal business / support clients).
  • Experience managing virtual teams.
  • Strong financial management skills.
  • Fluency in French is an asset, although not required.
