Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and organizing equipment maintenance and repair for the entire plant, in collaboration with the Maintenance Coordinator.

He or she participates in the implementation, enhancement and maintenance of the preventive maintenance program and the department’s structure, working closely with the Maintenance Manager, the Operational Buyer, the electrical mechanics and the coordinators in other departments.

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Plan and organize maintenance work to ensure that work is done efficiently and in accordance with the quality system and with health and safety requirements
  • Coordinate the personnel needed to successfully execute planned maintenance activities at the plant
  • Analyze and track repairs and determine the causes of gaps
  • Improve and develop predictive and condition-based maintenance methods (ultrasound, IR, vibration, precision mechanics, etc.)
  • Act as an OHS ambassador and ensure compliance with the company’s quality standards
  • See to the procurement of all parts required for preventive and predictive maintenance and for any related corrective measures
  • Inform stakeholders of issues and solutions
  • Fill out performance indicators and maintenance documents
  • Participate in failure analysis and operational improvement initiatives
  • Build and maintain the maintenance system, including planning, sequencing, kitting, 5S and other processes.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Intermediate level English, spoken and written
  • Thorough and well organized
  • Experience in a similar position (an asset)
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing (an asset)
  • Manufacturing industry experience (an asset)
