Our client is one of Canada’s largest Furniture, Appliance, Electronics and Floor Coverings buying group with over 700 retail members across the nation.

They provide their Members with accessible, cost-effective and scalable services, and provide their Vendors with an easy, efficient way to transact with their Members.

As the most senior executive, the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable to the Board of Directors. Managing a team of 5 direct reports and an employee group of 90, this role provides overall leadership and direction for the company and its subsidiaries to achieve their vision and mission to maximize shareholder value.

This individual can be located in Toronto, Montreal or Saskatoon.

First Year Deliverables

  • Gain a deep and broad understanding of the company’s business, establishing a high level of credibility with the Board, senior management and staff, Members and Key Vendors.
  • Stay focused on the key initiatives (revenue growth, digital acceleration, membership, execution, etc.) tied to the 3-year strategy (2022-2024).
  • Develop and re-energize the company’s retail solution to ensure it is as turnkey as possible while building programs and encouraging more engagement from Retailers.
  • Create trust with the independent retailer members and vendor partners.
  • Develop and implement strategies to continue to increase membership and franchise dealer base.
  • Set the foundation for Corporate-owned stores and develop acquisition strategies to preserve independent retail owners look to retire as customers of the company.
  • Work in partnership with the President / CFO of the company’s financial services subsidiary offering to build, support, and expand central billing into other industries.
  • Continue to enhance and expand retail services (i.e., Digital and website development, marketing initiatives, etc.) with the membership group.
  • Assess the current team and structure to ensure the right composition and talent is in place to drive growth and effectively execute strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will be an exceptional executive leader with a strong track record of success driving operational performance improvement, preferably in a retail environment.

    Coming from a background in sales, store operations, ecommerce, merchandising, and / or marketing, he / she is a leader focused on strong growth while driving value for the customer.

    The successful candidate will have a successful track record of strategizing, developing and implementing retail and wholesale strategies, and will be adept at influencing others and an effective communicator.

    Strong preference for candidate’s with dealer / franchise experience and bilingualism (English / French) capability.
