The Department of History at Simon Fraser University invite applications for a two-semester half-time (50%) term Assistant Professor position, starting September 1, 2020, and concluding April 30, 2021, with the possibility of renewal for up to one additional year, subject to budget availability.
This is a position in Middle Eastern and Islamic History. The successful candidate will teach one course each semester, to be assigned by the chair of the History Department based on the successful candidate's areas of specialization.
A full list of the courses offered by the History Department can be found at . As a member of the SFU Faculty Association (SFUFA) and the Department of History team of faculty, the Assistant Professor may also be expected to participate in the life of the unit.
Please note that almost all teaching at SFU in the fall term 2020 will be conducted through remote methods. The requirement to conduct teaching through remote methods may also extend past the fall term and possibly for the duration of the appointment.
