Collections Analyst

Get Inspired by the Work You’ll Do

  • Responsible for the management of a collection portfolio to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables
  • Identify collection concerns and reconciliation issues that require escalation and escalate to Manager / Supervisor
  • Accurately research collection histories of new and existing customers
  • Contact customers for payment information based on aging and resolve issues blocking payment; review and release orders as needed
  • Reconcile accounts with minimal guidance
  • Recognize red flags on accounts and bring to the attention of management
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts for problem resolution
  • Manage discrepancies to ensure resolved in timely manner
  • Cover for other team members managing their portfolios in their absence while continuing to manage your own portfolio
  • Conduct reviews of customer’s credit needs including analysis of financial statements, credit bureau reports and other supporting data to recommend credit lines
  • Build strong business relationships with Sales Department and customer’s AP department
  • Work effectively with other departments and customer as required to resolve outstanding issues such as returns, claims, pricing adjustments etc.
  • Ensure compliance of credit policies and procedures as well as internal audit requirements
  • Work in a safe manner. Be conscious at all times of safety on the job, by adhering to the established health and safety measures and practices of the company.
  • Report workplace hazards and any violations of the relevant legislation of the employer

  • Any additional related functions as required
  • Hours of work are 9 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm
  • Your passion is sparked by :

  • Post-Secondary Education in a business discipline or sufficient related experience in lieu
  • 2 to 5 years related experience preferably in the distribution field
  • Excellent reconciliation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with all levels of contacts within SYNNEX and customers’ organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work and foster a team environment
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Good follow up skills and persistence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Core Competencies for this role include analytical skills, communication skills and decision making / sound judgment
