Reporting to the AVP of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, this role will play a key role in developing and executing Business Unit (BU) communications strategies
Lead the development and end-to-end management of select strategic communications programs supporting business unit(s)
Act as a key stakeholder on cross-functional project teams, develop and deliver communications plans and tactics reflective of company priorities, change management strategies and employee engagement best practices
Forge strong relationships with stakeholders from within the business units and business partners aligned with the execution of communications tactics
Working with senior business leaders, assess communications needs and goals in the context of overall company business objectives and provide advice and counsel on appropriate communications strategies including internal and social media tactics
Develop communications strategies and create a variety of materials to execute on these strategies, including compelling written materials, PPT presentations, social media content, video production, etc.
Collaborate with other team members on innovative solutions and best practices
Manage appropriate approvals of communications materials
Qualifications and Competencies :
Post-secondary education in communication, journalism or an equivalent background.
5+ years of progressive experience in communications
Demonstrated experience in planning and executing strategic internal communications programs, events and announcements.
Experience with advising senior executives while rolling up sleeves’ and executing with excellence
Strong problem-solving, strategic planning, negotiating and project management skills.
Strong ability to socialize plans and influence colleagues and business partners
Progressive responsibility in communications roles in large, complex organizations
Extensive knowledge in a wide variety of contemporary communications vehicles and styles, including online, social media and print
Strong collaboration and relationship building skills and ability to work well with a national team working in different locations
Ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities and operate with a sense of urgency
Ability to handle sensitive / confidential information appropriately
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to deliver relevant and consistent messaging, with demonstrated creativity and attention to detail
