Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment Marketing and Communications, the incumbent provides research, writing and editorial expertise to print and digital media in support of recruitment and enrolment activities.

Write, edit and research designated print and digital material in support of various recruitment and enrolment projects.
Proofread and edit own work, in accordance with the Canadian Press Style Guide and the Concordia specific style guide, ensuring that information is accurate;
proofread and edit the work of others in the department and ensure the quality and accuracy of written material originating from other units
Create, select and edit content that will appear in social media networks, email campaigns and e-newsletters
Confer with clients regarding revisions to content and ensure that deadlines are met by clients; liaise and collaborate with other units in the University during production of communication pieces.
Research and interview subject matter experts and students to develop new content
Provide prospective students with general information about programs and admissions, generally through digital media channels
Liaise with appropriate staff to ensure that suitable visuals are available for publications; ensure that the writing and the messages are suitable for the medium for which they are intended (web, electronic, print, video).
Ensure content represents the creative and strategic recruitment direction of the university and enhances the university’s recruitment efforts
Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience in the production of electronic and print communications, preferably in an educational setting or for educational clients.
Previous experience with University publications and content desirable.
Knowledge of the Canadian Press Style Guide is an asset.
Experience with various social media channels and / or knowledge of best practices desirable.
Experience in writing material for online, print, and multimedia publication, or working with printers.
Editing experience; online writing and video scripting experience
Thorough knowledge of CP Style
Very good knowledge of (Level 5) spoken and written English in order to produce and proofread / edit publications and communication pieces;
good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written French.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Keen attention to details.
