Job Purpose :
The Product Safety & Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Canada Goose products comply with restricted substance regulations, and international regulatory and safety standards for raw materials, trims and finished goods.
The incumbent will work closely with key internal partners (Product Development, Sourcing, Legal, Quality Assurance (QA), and Logistics), vendors, and industry related working groups, to ensure adherence to best practices and safety requirements for in all product lines.

Maintaining current knowledge of existing and emerging safety regulations through industry websites, publications, attending conferences, relevant industry meetings and self-education
Write or update standard operating procedures, policies and work instructions
Compile and maintain regulatory documentation, test reports, databases or systems
Support international business growth by ensuring all country specific safety standards are researched, developed, and maintained
Advise internal partners on subjects such as premarket regulatory requirements, labelling requirements for relevant international markets
Review labelling records, material specification sheets, and test methods for compliance within outlined regulations and policies
Remain up-to-date on current and changing legislation / trends that may impact the company’s multi-language labelling (MLL) requirements for existing and new markets
Provide actionable and timely solutions to the Sr. Manager to address new and upcoming MLL requirements
Work with internal partners and 3rd party contractors (label makers) to manage the creation, approval and production of labelling artwork
Partner with key internal teams and external consultants to identify cost savings throughout MLL production
Develop and manage relationships regarding compliance with 3rd party testing laboratories.
Analyze lab test reports, acknowledge results and report to internal partners
Provide ongoing training to relevant teams and vendors
Elevate emerging issues & critical product failures to the Sr. Manager
Manage end-to-end process, including test requisitions and invoice payment processing to Accounts Payable, including monthly accruals
Experience, Education and Designations :
Post-secondary education is an asset
5 years of product safety and compliance experience
Experience with compliance legislation, multi-language labeling, consumer safety and testing procedures
Comprehensive knowledge of compliance and safety legislation and regulations
High-degree of proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes :
Commitment and passion for quality, product safety and compliance
Strong process mapping and project management skills with ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated, self-directed team player
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Strong quantitative and analytical skills- ability to interpret and draw out results from substantial amounts of data
Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
Working Conditions :
Office and manufacturing environment
Domestic / international travel is required 15-20% of the time
