Job Description

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician - Millwright for our Food Production client in Surrey, BC

The ideal candidate will be a Red Seal Millwright with strong technical skills, hands ontroubleshooting experience and working knowledge in mechanical systems,hydraulic, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, carton packers, cup fillers, extruders, flow-wrappers, metal detectors, palletizers, and vacuum packing machines.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Including but not limited to : adjusting, dismantling, installing, maintaining, optimizing, overhauling, and repairing production equipment
  • Knowledge and experience on HMI, PLC and low voltage electrical control systems
  • Broad mechanical knowledge particularly in high speed manufacturing / pharmaceutical / packaging / food processingenvironment
  • Completing work orders in a specific time allowance
  • Providing mechanical knowledge to / and assist in troubleshooting of food process machinery
  • Identifying, developing, assisting, and implementing improvements on food process machinery
  • Performing routine maintenance on food processing machinery
  • Supporting other maintenance department employees with their job duties if necessary
  • Attending / responding to food process machinery breakdowns in an adequate, effective, and efficient manner
  • Requirements

  • Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Millwright ticket is mandatory.
  • Alternatively candidates who are tickets pipe fitters / welders with strong mechanical aptitude and hands on experience may also be considered for this role
  • Working level proficiency in the English Language, Good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. MS office skills
  • 3 years or more experience performing job duties as a millwright / maintenance related work in industrial environment
  • Ability to be patient
  • Ability to interpret and understand blueprints
  • Ability to use manual / power tools in a safe manner
