Reporting to the Retail Staffing Manager and based out of the Vaughan Rapid Deployment Centre, the Retail Staffing Specialist is responsible for executing the hourly talent acquisition process for the Home Depot Canada Supply Chain ensuring that the company hires a diverse, high performing hourly workforce.

Position Responsibilities :
Actively engage candidates during phone interviews to identify relevant skills and experience
Presents qualified candidates to Supply Chain leaders
Assess the community demographics and creates a candidate pipeline that meets diversity hiring initiatives
Build and maintain strong relationships with the HR Business Partners in order to meet recruitment objectives
Develop sourcing strategies and pipeline for the various markets
Proactively source active and passive applicants to fill various vacancies
Partner with Employment Branding Manager to develop creative branding initiatives
Maintain and report on time to fill metrics to track success
Ensure consistency, efficiency and compliance with applicable legislation and company policies. Ensure all staffing activities are compliant with the established sourcing, recruiting, and selection procedures including maintaining appropriate recordkeeping
Partner with HR Business Partner on job fairs and support events at the Vaughan RDC
Provide recommendations as to improvements needed in order to streamline processes
Knowledge / Experience Required :
Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+).
Degree in Human Resources management or a related field, or a combination of related experience and education required;
One to Three years of human resources experience with a strong concentration in recruitment and selection required;
Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing strategies including direct sourcing, selection techniques and diversity recruiting in addition to problem solving, influential and interpersonal skills required;
High degree of professionalism to represent the Home Depot externally as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality;
Strong organizational skills including the ability to produce high quality work while juggling competing demands and tight deadlines;
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Knowledge of Employment law as it relates to the recruitment and selection process;
Previous experience with applicant tracking systems is an asset
