Details :

  • Location : Vancouver / Burnaby (split between two clinics)
  • Salary : Competitive
  • Key Duties :

  • Greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone.
  • Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reminding provider and patients of service delays.
  • Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions
  • Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges.
  • Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Contribute to team effort.
  • Managing surgical bookings and maintaining the surgical wait list. Ensuring surgical packages are completed in a timely manner and submitted to the hospital on time.
  • Ensuring patients are aware of details pertaining to their surgery.

  • Schedule hospital admissions, tests, scans and outside appointments for patients
  • Obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing post.
  • Complete other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Maintain stock of forms and office supplies.
  • Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean.
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Key qualifications and competencies :

  • High school diploma and MOA Diploma
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
  • Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
  • Communication skills - able to listen effectively and express oneself in a clear and articulate manner
  • Information collection and management - able to collect, organize and monitor data efficiently
  • Planning and organizing - able to multi-task, prioritize and schedule tasks and activities
  • Attention to detail - able to produce accurate and high quality work
  • Customer service skills - able to develop good relationships with patients with a focus on achieving patient satisfaction
  • Adaptability - able to adjust approach to meet changing demands and situations including dealing with diverse people
  • Confidentiality - able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
