Our client, a longstanding and very stable Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, is on the hunt for a seasoned Human Resources Manager to join their dynamic team.

Key responsibilities and ideal requirements below :
With an HR staff of approximately 4-5 people, you will have full generalist and labour relations responsibility. You will also oversee the following :
Key Responsibilities :
Administers the Collective Bargaining agreement and to ensure it is being followed by both the company and union.
Actively participate in all Collective Agreement negotiations and find ways to reach a successful ratification.
Oversees all grievances.
Reviews, recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions.
Keeps records of benefits plans participation, pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
Coordinates management training and advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Administers performance reviews and salary administration programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
Oversees benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Conducts wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
Oversees general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations / standards.
Responsible for reward, awards, recognition and incentive programs.
Oversees WSIB and plant to ensure safe return to work is being applied.
Set up and maintain the H&S board.
Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
Represents management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements and other labor relations issues.
Oversee all terminations and disciplinary actions.
Participate in operations strategy as a member of the Plant Manager’s leadership team.
Ideal Requirements :
University degree ideal
5-10 years’ of automotive manufacturing experience. Tier 1 experience ideal.
Labor Relations, collective bargaining and negotiations experience in a union environment
Payroll and timekeeping systems knowledge
Federal and Provincial regulations experience
Strong managerial skills with the ability to interface with senior management
Plant Safety exposure
