We are currently seeking several Journeyman Ironworkers to join a Fort McMurray based project. This is a camp position on a 10 day on 4 day off rotation.

Accommodations are provided as are flights out of Edmonton and Calgary to Fort McMurray. A Journeyman Ironworker who would be successful at this role would have a strong safety focus, work well in a large team atmosphere but also be able to be provided with tasks and complete them in a timely manner independently.

Journeymen Ironworkers will be required to modify, fabricate and erect structural steel components.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to :

  • Read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work
  • Unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
  • Assemble rigging (cables, pulleys, hooks) to move heavy equipment and materials
  • Work with and signal cranes and heavy equipment
  • Check the alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding them with an electric arc process
  • Please be aware :

    Qualified applicants who are offered, and accept a position must submit to Alcohol & Drug test prior to departing for the job.

  • 10 hours a day (8 regular, 2 overtime)

  • Minimum Requirements :

  • Journeyman Certificate / Inter provincial Red Seal / 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice
  • CSTS-09
  • Fall-Arrest and / or Fall Protection (OSSA issued ticket)
  • Aerial Work Platform
