We are currently looking for a Specialist, Compensation & Benefits for our Mississauga Head Office .
The Specialist, Compensation & Benefits, is responsible for managing and administrating the Company’s compensation and benefit programs, including the reporting and analysis of HR related data / metrics.
The position provides expertise and advice to all levels of the organization on the interpretation and development of compensation policies / procedures, programs, and systems.
He / she will carry out all responsibilities while promoting VitalAire safety and quality practices.
Oversees the administration of the annual compensation and benefits programs including salary increases, incentive plans, benefits open enrollment, and shareholder purchase program.
Develops, administers and recommends best practices regarding compensation philosophy / programs including competitive salary structures, bonus programs, sales compensation plans, and compensation procedures / policies / regulations.
Advises on salary increase requests for new hires, promotions and performance. Ensures fair and equitable application of VitalAire’s compensation policy.
Supports the annual payroll budget planning process. Liaises with Finance and management to provide annual employee payroll budget data.
Assists with Finance department inquiries and reporting.
Participates in salary surveys and conducts research into current market trends. Conducts analysis and makes recommendations to ensure an internally equitable and externally competitive compensation structure.
Ensures continued compliance with all legislative requirements including the maintenance of the Company’s Pay Equity programs in Ontario and Quebec.
Completes job evaluations and liaises with Management to ensure proper interpretation of compensable factors. Maintains job structure and pay bands.
Completes benefit enrollment of newly eligible employees and administers Life Event changes in Group Benefits and Retirement Savings programs.
Liaises with benefit carriers to resolve employee benefit issues / discrepancies.
Maintains compensation and benefit information on company intranet.
Acts as a HRIS Power User. Maintains job structure (titles, job codes) in the system and assists with system configuration and report building.
Creates and completes reports and analytics on a monthly, quarterly, and adhoc basis (i.e. monthly headcount, turnover, quarterly H-
form). Performs analysis to provide trends and recommendations and ensures accuracy of data.
Supports special projects as required.
University Degree / College Diploma with a focus on Human Resources or equivalent
Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
CHRP and / or CCP designation preferred
Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce and Workday preferred)
Working knowledge of Gmail and Google tools including Docs, Slides. A strong command of Google Sheets / Excel with the ability to write advanced formulas (vlookup, if statements, pivot tables)
Comfortable working with large amounts of data
The ability to work effectively in an environment of change and ambiguity
Excellent Verbal / written communication skills
Team player with the ability to interact and build relationships at all levels within an organization
Self-starter and able to work with minimal directions
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
