Executive Producer - Breakfast Television National

City is looking for a passionate and forward thinking editorial leader to manage the production of our Breakfast Television shows across Canada.

Reporting the to Vice President, News and Information, this individual is a motivated, business-oriented, team-playing and a production professional with exceptional creative instincts.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and Implement National Breakfast Television strategy
  • Plans and executes BT Specials productions and other In-House Productions within the markets
  • Create new revenue opportunities within owned productions
  • Acts as Integration Liaison between Rogers Media brands
  • Provide leadership, direction and feedback on editorial and production elements
  • Working in conjunction with City News, implement and reinforce the City News strategy
  • Innovate digital strategies that enhance viewer engagement and build audience
  • Work with the Sales team to produce integrated segments that engage viewers and generate revenue
  • Leverage integrated content with other Rogers properties
  • Collaborate with Operations and Production team to ensure highest quality production
  • Ensure that Rogers News policies and guidelines are followed and CRTC compliance targets are achieved
  • Accountable for the allocation of resources to maximize value and minimize costs
  • Work with community, government, sports and entertainment groups to forge strong working relationships
  • Continuously develop new talent
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in TV industry including experience in a Senior Management role
  • Superb written, verbal, research and interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous experience managing budgets is essential
  • Proven experience with managing a large regional team
  • Broadcaster experience at a Production Executive or Director level is an asset
  • Understanding of production : including technical aspects (e.g. post production, camera); budgets, finance plans & production schedules - is essential
  • Shift : Day

    Travel Requirements : Up to 10%
