Aviva is pleased to announce the start of our recruitment for our Summer Intern Program for the period of May 2020 to August 2020.

This is an excellent opportunity for post-secondary students to gain exposure to the insurance industry. We are currently looking for summer interns to join our HR business across Canada.

Aviva realizes the importance of creating internships as a means to develop talent to meet future requirements for entry-level insurance roles.

What you’ll do :

Provide administrative support to HR initiatives for Service Delivery and Payroll team. This person will have the desire to learn the inner workings of an HR department and the foundational elements that make Human Resources a critical function to the success of an organization.

They will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of the employment process from Recruiting / onboarding to off-boarding.

  • Filing of pension administration forms
  • Provide support in HR Service Centre
  • Support cyclical bi-weekly payroll activities
  • Support the collection of business requirements for HR Ops related improvement projects
  • Other administrative duties and projects as assigned
  • What you need to succeed :

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program required, HR or business related field preferred
  • Proficient with various computer programs, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Experience in customer service and working with a diverse group of people
  • Interest in HR or business and the demonstrated ability to learn and grow
  • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve
