Being a Senior Manager, Data Risk Management means promoting sound risk management principles through corporate governance in a rapidly changing environment in order to support our business objectives.
The main responsibilities include : Data risk management : Develop and promote adherence to the related framework, principles and practices to ensure sound data risk management during routine initiatives and operations.
Data risk management framework develop our framework, principles and practices, aligned with regulatory principles (RDARR)
Ensure alignment with the Chief Data Officer (CDO) and with data and infrastructure transformations
Keep abreast of market trends
Data management : Support data users from the Risk Management group by capitalizing on our assets, developing flexible solutions adapted to sound risk management needs, and ensuring ongoing alignment with the Bank's orientations.
Produce the data necessary for certain risk groups
Provide support, training and data expertise
Ensure an efficient data environment and data quality
Analyze, profile and integrate data
Specifically, the main tasks include :
Holistically manage risks related to data (role of second line of defence), in relation to RDARR principles
Oversee data risk as the second line of defence for all Bank activities according to the corporate data risk management principles established with the CDO and in compliance with RDARR principles
Report on the status of data risk, supported by risk indicators and risk appetite indicators
Carry out the RDARR independent validation plan
Manage the IT risk management orientation committee (ITRM forum)
Contribute to data risk management initiatives
Help develop corporate data environments
Structure the information needs of the Risk Management group to ensure integration with the corporate data strategy
Coordinate and contribute to improving data quality
Reinforce the corporate culture in relation to data risk
Communicate and promote guidelines, best practices, developments, and quality issues for data users
Advise the Risk Management teams and other groups on how to leverage and understand tools and data
Offer skilled advice to support business partners
Make continuous improvements in line with the Bank's transformation and innovation practices
Keep abreast of market trends, innovations and tools in relation to data risk management
Oversee and apply the management process related to data quality issues including default parameters and the data quality dashboard
Maintain and document user environments
Guide initiatives to improve data quality
Manage priorities and budgets for information and application assets
Optimize, improve and standardize the team's work processes including issues related to capacity, demand, production, training, aggregation, controls, etc.
Master's degree in financial engineering, statistics, math, econometrics or another related field with at least eight years of relevant experience
Experience in managing a team of approximately ten data scientists
Strong analytical skills
In-depth knowledge of data governance practices and processes
Expertise in the field of banking
Strong ability to influence, synthesize information, and explain concepts in plain language
Ability to work under pressure within tight timeframes
Bilingualism, both spoken and written (English and French)
