Designs a pattern to produce an executable garment that is balanced and proportional to the sketch, and that meets Laura Canada standards.
Examines the Technical Designer’s sketches to make sure the garment is feasable and gives appropriate feedback when required.
Designs a pattern that is balanced, proportional to the sketch and executable by the Production Team ensuring that all details are there (i.
e. position of pleats, pockets, etc.) and that Laura Canada standards are met.
Writes the specification sheets and sewing guidelines for each sample (size, number, style and explanation regarding the sewing).
Ensures that the sample produced matches the pattern and the original sketch.
Makes the appropriate corrections to styles.
Performs size grading for each pattern.
Is responsible for producing the styles and giving them to the Production Team within lead time.
Respects the approval ratio and achieves the monthly objective of designed patterns.
Keeps the workflow list up-to-date at all times.
Fashion Design Diploma or diploma in garment techniques
10 years experience in pattern design for ladies apparel
Knowledge of PAD system
Attention to details and precision
Analytical skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong ability to effectively communicate thoughts and concerns in a professional manner to co-workers
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize
